Your smile has a social life

Dr. White on good habits, good taste and giving your smile a little more attention.

Your smile goes everywhere you do. Into the meeting. Across the dinner table. A little closer when the music gets good. It deserves some attention before you head out, and again when it’s just you and the bathroom mirror.

As a dentist, I want you to take care of your mouth. I also want you to enjoy it. The getting-ready playlist can stay on. Your toothpaste can taste like juicy peach. There’s room for a little pleasure in the part of your evening you usually rush through.

That’s the idea I want you to bring to your routine: make it something you want to come back to.

Make those two minutes yours

Brush gently for two minutes, twice a day, with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Give the outside, inside and chewing surfaces of your teeth their turn. The back teeth deserve as much attention as the ones in your selfies.

Clean between your teeth daily, too. Then keep your regular dental visits on the calendar. Those habits do the everyday work while you get on with the rest of your life. A closer look at brushing technique.

Take a breath and let yourself finish. That last email can wait two minutes.

You’re allowed to be particular

I want you to notice what you enjoy using. The flavor you look forward to. The brush that feels comfortable. The way a tool fits your hand.

Maybe your morning has a thing for Sweet Peach. Maybe Guava Glow is more your speed. Or perhaps you like the creamy flavor of Coconut Chill when the lights are low and you’re winding down. You can choose a flavor with the same confidence you bring to choosing your fragrance.

And if tongue cleaning is part of your routine, let the grip guide your choice. One hand or two. Warm copper or polished steel. Follow the directions and keep your touch gentle.

Enjoy the details. This is your mouth, after all.

Get to know what you’re getting close to

Flavor gets your attention. The formula deserves a little of it, too.

Fruit by Design includes nano-hydroxyapatite and xylitol. Nano-hydroxyapatite is a form of the calcium-phosphate mineral found in tooth enamel. Researchers have studied it in toothpastes for sensitivity care. The findings apply to the specific formulas tested. Explore an ingredient study.

The full ingredient lists are on our product pages. Read them, be curious and bring your questions to your dentist. If something feels uncomfortable or changes in your mouth, that deserves attention, too.

Keep a little of the evening for yourself

You’ve chosen what to wear. You know which song you want to hear. Give your smile its moment before you walk out the door.

And on the nights you’re staying in, give it the same care. You’re still very much worth getting ready for.

That’s oral care with intent. I’d like you to enjoy every part of it.
